Annan Harbour Action Group

Annan Harbour Festival a great success!

Thanks to all those who took part and those who visited the harbour. See more pictures!

Lots of people were involved in making the day such a success. There was entertainment throughout the day from the Anava Singers, the Junior Town Band, the Juvenile Pipes and Drums and Angela Johnson's Tai Chi groups. Individual performers, Sophie Dalrymple, Leona Evans and Ruby Darbyshire each offered their distinctive style. Supporting them was Ross Newton with his sound system, and he acted as the First Aider as well.

Free boat rides were offered to about 200 people. This was a chance to get a first hand view of what the river and harbour can offer for leisure activities. These exciting rides were sponsored by M&S Engineering, Steven Vivers Garden Maintenance, Esk Roofing and Annan Harbour Storage.

A wide range of stalls included local and national charities and local craftwork. Food was also on offer, including hot burgers, pan-fried scallops, tea and home-made cakes, cheeses and smoked salmon.

The West Lowland Battalion Army Cadet Force were on hand to manage traffic. But they helped in so many other ways - helping stallholders to with their tents and carrying stock, assisting visitors on the quayside, clearing litter, and then at the end, helping us to dismantle. We welcomed their attendance immensely.
